Sarah grew up with the dream of working in the music industry. She pursued her childhood goal and finished college with a degree in music production as well as an associates degree. After the sudden loss of her mother in 2008 her life goals began to shift as she realized the power of spiritual connection. This started her journey to a more fulfilling lifestyle and a career shift to healing. She received her massage therapy certification at The Costa Rica School of Massage Therapy in 2011. Sarah has been practicing bodywork since and continually educates herself in the art of healing. She has been practicing yoga since 2002 but kicked her practice into a higher gear in 2009. She found hot yoga then and knew she needed to bring it to the Outer Banks. By recognizing her own physical limitations in her practice, she was able to fully understand the benefits of practicing in a heated environment. She then began to arrange the building blocks for OBXHY. Her personal experience brought her awareness to the power of yoga and the healing it has to offer. As a massage therapist she strives to create awareness and change in the body. As a yoga instructor she brings the same knowledge and experience to her classes and physical adjustments for students. She believes in the harmony of the yoga community and is grateful for her fellow yogis and teachers. Sarah completed the 260 hour interdisciplinary yoga teacher training program at The Amalam School of Yoga here in the outer banks with Anne Fallenbach Howard. She also completed the 300 hour Barkan Method Hot Vinyassa Teacher Training-Level II/III with Jimmy Barkan. She has worked diligently building a strong foundation for OBX Hot Yoga and is beyond grateful to bring this yoga practice to the community. She adores the outer banks with all it has to offer and loves all things beach style. Sarah loves to swim, surf, fish(and eat fish), and simply enjoy the friends and life she is fortunate to have.
